Episode Summary
One of Daniel’s major emphasis is what being separated and committed to the will of God will do for a believer. Not to mention, one of God’s greatest examples of just how far He’ll go for the one who will absolutely trust Him in any given situation.

- 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (NKJV) Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
- Gabriel speaks to Daniel.
- v.17, So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.”
- v.18, Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched me, and stood me upright.
- v.19, And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be.
- Then the vision begins describing the one that will be empowered by the dragon in Revelation 13:2 and he will introduce himself as the prince of peace.
- v.23, And in the latter time of their kingdom, When the transgressors have reached their fullness, A king shall arise, Having fierce features, Who understands sinister schemes.
- v.24, His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.
- v.25, “Through his cunning He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; But he shall be broken without human means.
- v.26, “And the vision of the evenings and mornings Which was told is true; Therefore seal up the vision, For it refers to many days in the future.”
- Daniel 9:20-24,NKJV- “Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God,
- v.21, yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering.
- v.22, And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand.
- v.23, At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:
- v.24, “Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy.”
- v.24-27, The 70 weeks, 70 years of 7’s (490 years)
- 70 sabbath years, or weeks of judgment.
- v.25, In Nehemiah 2, Jerusalem is commissioned to be rebuilt.
- The 70 weeks in this passage is the first 49 years from King Artaxerxes decree until Nehemiah renews God’s covenant within the city.
- The 62 weeks, 434 years from the dedication until the resurrection of the Christ.
- Total 483 years
- v.26-27, the last week, 7 years is yet to come. It is the time of the end.
- Daniel 9:25-27 (NKJV) Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times.
- v.26, And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined.
- v.27, Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NIV) For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Amos 3:7 (NIV) Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.
- 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (NLT) And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope.
- v.14, For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
- v.15, We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died.
- v.16, For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves.
- v.17, Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
- v.18, So encourage each other with these words.
- 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 (NLT) But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed!
- It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed.
- For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
- In 1 Corinthians Paul reminds us that there are three groups of people God addresses throughout the scriptures; Jews, Gentiles, and the Church.
- In Daniel 9:27, the anti will come on the stage of the world with a peace treaty in the Middle East, specifically Israel.
- He will confirm this covenant for 7 years, the final week of Daniel’s vision.
- Beginning of 7 year tribulation.
- Three and a half years in he breaks treaty.
- Here’s the thing, God’s word as well as history establishes the first two parts of the vision fulfilled:
- 1. 7 weeks, 49 years
- 2. 62 weeks, 434 years
- Totaling 483 years. Plus 7= 490 years.
- Make no mistake this last week will absolutely come to pass.
